The GW Data tool acts as a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, empowering AI assistants like Claude and LangChain-compatible LLMs to interact with gravitational wave databases. It translates natural language queries into structured requests, providing real-time access to GW event details, catalogs, and strain data from public sources like GWOSC and released GraceDB events. For authenticated users, it also offers full access to GraceDB's current observing run and GCN Kafka alerts, making complex astrophysical data accessible and actionable for various AI applications and research.
